I went on my first solo adventure at 15 years old to Washington D.C., funded partly through a scholarship and partly through a summer spent washing dishes at a local gas station restaurant and having a newspaper route. Sixteen years later I have traveled to 15+ countries, most of them being solo adventures done on the budget of someone who lived off Ramen noodles for the entirety of her twenties.
I believe that everyone benefits from travel and lack of money or a travel buddy should not hold you back from experiencing different cultures, places, and people. Throughout my travels in Europe, Asia, Africa, and North America, I have learned where you can cut corners to save a few dollars and I’ve made mistakes and learned where you shouldn’t skimp.
I want to give female travelers the confidence to explore the world on their own without having to declare bankruptcy to get there. I have learned so much about myself as a person through my travels and I hope every woman gets the chance to experience that as well.
